Science and Image
This series of drawings and paintings is an investigation combining the properties of watercolours, various watercolour papers, various mark-making tools, and rules when using those tools. The methods are aimed at producing mathematically chaotic patterns that capture natural forms and textures. They are also a response to my work in science. Visualising the scientific helps to put things into perspective and really think about connections and associations.
Some of the paintings formed part of an exhibition at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, UK in 2002.
